Opponents of marriage equality have presented the the Prime Minister with 32,297 letters linking marriage equality to: “Higher rates of physical and mental health problems, child abuse, criminality, drug abuse… devastating consequences for children and for society”.
They have also confirmed today that “Ms Gillard said she greatly appreciated receiving the letters. She reiterated her support for the meaning marriage has had throughout recorded history”.
To combat these factually incorrect and hurtful statements that have been presented to the Prime Minister, we need the voice of the majority of Australians who support marriage equality to be heard. We need your help to encourage as many friends and family to send letters to MPs by clicking here to “Say I DO” to marriage equality.
