Denying gay people the right to marry is denying their full humanity, according to philosopher and author Raimond Gaita.
In a preview of the Herbert and Valmae Freilich Foundation Annual Lecture in Bigotry and Intolerance, Mr Gaita said people who supported civil unions instead of gay marriage did not recognise the depth and dignity of homosexuality.
