A parliamentary committee has recommended laws to allow civil partnerships in Queensland be passed.
The legal affairs committee held public hearings to get input from those for and against the legal recognition of same-sex relationships and has now tabled its report.
The committee’s six Government MPs are supporting civil unions.
However, the recommendation to endorse civil unions was not unanimous, with three of the committee’s nine MPs issuing dissenting reports.
