Dear Tasmanian supporter of marriage equality,
AME is convening a vigil for equality at the University of Tasmania on May 17th.
The vigil coincides with a national forum extolling the virtues of marriage as the union of a man and a woman. The national forum, called “Excellent Marriage“, will be addressed by three high-profile opponents of marriage equality, Margaret Court, Guy Barnett and Campbell Markham.
The theme of our peaceful presence will be “Equally Excellent”. Banners in that theme will be available for you to wave to people attending “Excellent Marriage”. There will also be speakers in favour of equality.
Remember, May 17th is also International Day Against Homophobia. We can’t let prejudice go unchallenged on such an important day.
