First George Clooney and Brad Pitt got aboard. Now Australian thespians are virtually queuing to show their support for same-sex marriage. Shane Jacobson, Rachel Griffiths, Magda Szubanski, Georgie Parker, Lisa McCune and Daniel MacPherson are among more than 20 actors who have enlisted to perform stage readings this week of 8, a new play on gay rights, to coincide with the release of findings of a Senate inquiry into same-sex marriage in Australia.
The play, by Oscar-winner Dustin Lance Black, arrives after reaching water-cooler levels of discussion in Los Angeles, where Clooney and Pitt read roles, and New York.
