Federal Brisbane MP Teresa Gambaro has once again been confronted over her opposition to marriage equality.
LGBTI rights advocate Phil Browne and 15 other concerned community members (pictured) took advantage of another constituent meeting of Gambaro’s held on February 2 in Clayfield, Brisbane.
In an effort to continually challenge the MP over her stance, Browne and the group again raised the issue of a survey result that indicated her electorate overwhelmingly supports marriage equality, and her promise in her maiden speech in Parliament to be a voice for her constituents.
“It bitterly offends my sense of decency and fairness that some Australians are treated as somehow less worthy of the rights and choices that most of us take for granted,” one of the group stated.
“This community deserves the right and respect given to all others, this includes the right to marry.”
