Marriage Equality advocates Nathan Thomas and James Argent are inviting members of the community to come and show their support for marriage equality at a demonstration in Manly on Saturday, May 18.
“We want people to come along, bring a sign showing their support for same sex marriage, or bring a rainbow flag and ten friends,” Nathan told SX.
“We will gather, there will be a couple of brief speeches and we will then head to the pub for a drink and some food.”
Joining them will be their parents Geoff Thomas and Shelley Argent. Geoff is the plumber who famously confronted Opposition Leader Tony Abbott on marriage equality on the ABC’s Q&A program in 2011, while Shelley the national spokesperson for Parents and Friends of Lesbians and Gays (PFLAG).
The event starts at 11am at the area adjoining Belgrave Street, Whistler Street and The Corso.
