Marriage Equality advocates will host their annual Equality Dinner at popular Potts Point restaurant Cafe DOV on the 5th of June to help raise funds and awareness for Australian Marriage Equality.
Australian Marriage Equality National Director, Rodney Croome, said:
“Being an election year, and one where marriage equality is already dominating headlines, support is critical to help us progress equality now and beyond September 14th”
This year’s key note address will be given by screenwriter and director Stephan Elliott, who was responsible for the global hit The Adventures of Priscilla Queen of the Desert. Stephan is a strong marriage equality advocate and last year encourages celebrities of Hugh Jackman, Guy Pearce, and Olivia Newton-John to come out in support of reform.
Mr Elliot said:
“I’ve never been politically motivated, but when I saw this issue of marriage equality erupting over here while the rest of the world was getting on with it, it finally made me stand up and fight this one”
The evening will be MC’ed by 2DayFM newsreader Geoff Field and will also include speeches from Australian Marriage Equality National Director Rodney Croome. Prizes including rare collectible items from Olivia Newton-John will be auctioned, and AME will also announce a global corporate partner at the event.
Last year’s dinner sold out in a matter of days those wishing to attend can book tickets here.
