The Australian marriage equality campaign will be under the international spotlight this coming week as the organisation’s Director, Rodney Croome, heads to Hong Kong to speak at a number of high-profile events at the OUT Leadership Summit.
Croome will be speaking to business and community leaders from Hong Kong and across the greater Asia region about Australian Marriage Equality’s success in gaining the support of Australian businesses, large and small.
He will also be seeking support from Summit attendees for the Australian campaign.
“The fact almost 700 Australian businesses have declared their support for marriage equality is a good news story I look forward to sharing with others”, Mr Croome said.
“I will also be talking more broadly about the Australian marriage equality campaign, and seeking the support of businesses and community groups in our region.”
“My fundamental message will be that international support is key to achieving marriage equality in Australia, while, in turn, achieving the reform here will help propel similar movements overseas, including in Asia.”
“I’m excited by the prospect of meeting other leaders for equality and am grateful to OUT Leadership for the opportunity.”
