DEPUTY First Minister Nicola Sturgeon is helming the Marriage and Civil Partnership Bill.
THE SNP Government will step up their controversial plans for gay marriage this week.
Alex Salmond will unveil a programme of 15 new bills for the next year when the Scottish parliament resumes on Tuesday.
The programme includes a bill to allow same-sex couples to marry.
